Hey World!
Just about everyone who is coming to the event has arrived. My parents were successfully able to get the rental car and find the hotel without any major problems. It did take them an hour or two and they finally turned down the street they thought the hotel was on, and found it. Off of the main street, there isn’t a street sign so you will never find the street your looking for no matter how hard you look. We had team practice for 3 hours where we all were able to have a lot of time on the water. The team is looking good and we are looking forward to the tournament.
Today was an amazing day. We (my family, the Lawrence’s family, Harley and Robert) all went site seeing at two beautiful cities; Valparaiso and Vina Del Mar. They are along the coast and are an hour in a half from Santiago. We were able to go to the beach, view old ports from the 1900’s, houses from the 17 or 1800’s, current ports and have lunch on the beach at a great restaurant. We also saw some incredible sand art.
Tomorrow is the first day of competition. The entire event will be web casted live at http://www.waterskibroadcasting.com/ Women’s slalom starts at 1pm, we are 3 hours ahead of the east coast and 5 hours ahead of the west coast. I’d imagine our first skier, Alex Lauretano, will be skiing at 2pm. I think I will ski around 5:10-5:50pm. They are running slalom and possibly tricks today. See running orders below.
Theses are just some of the photos, I will put more of them up at the end of the trip.
