I was fortunate to spend the last couple of days with my family as we stayed in California for the first time in 5 years. Even though it was Christmas, I continued to train for the University World Championships. My older brother Steven and his family joined us at our home as they made the trip from North Las Vegas. My brother and nieces were able to spend some time with us at the lake as well.

I leave in 3 days for Florida where I will train in warmer water for a week before I leave for Chile. As the event continues to get closer, I anxiously await to take part in this amazing opportunity. Not only do I get to represent myself, my family and Elk Grove, but I will also represent Saint Mary’s College and my country.
