Over the past few weeks, I have been thinking about ways to have some fun and come up with something that people look forward to seeing each week. I have come up with, Saturday SHOUT OUT! Starting today, February 23, 2013, I will start BD’s (Brian Detrick’s) Saturday SHOUT OUT. I will post my Saturday SHOUT OUT every (I’m hoping you all already know the answer)….That’s right, EVERY SATURDAY.
A SHOUT OUT can be for a number of reasons; including but not limited to: an accomplishment, something new I have learned, recent news, something/someone that impressed me, etc.
Anyone can email me (brian.c.detrick@gmail.com) or send me a message on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with a recommendation for BD’s Saturday SHOUT OUT. Make sure to have the subject be: BD’s Saturday SHOUT OUT or hashtag #SaturdayShoutOut, #BDsSaturdayShoutOut and tag me in your post.
The 1st ever, BD’s Saturday SHOUT OUT goes to Judy from Carmichael, CA. I first found out about Judy at the Sac-Town Throwdown CrossFit event a month ago. I picked up some information she had at her table and called them to learn more since I didn’t have the opportunity to talk to her at the event. For those of you who don’t know, I have driven many miles, spent many hours and spent a lot of money (+/- $10,000) over the last 5 years on massage, deep tissue, etc. Majority of it being in the last 3 year after I suffered a neck injury October 1, 2009. To make a long story short, this past Tuesday I had my first visit. It was only suppose to be a 45 minute visit; 2 1/2 hours later I had to stop her from wanting to work on me more because I had a meeting to get to. I have never had any results from any type of muscle therapy (massage, deep tissue, acupuncture, etc). Let’s remember, this is only after 1 visit. Yes, I’m VERY IMPRESSED!! I have been so “jacked up” the last 5 years, I just got use to being in pain and discomfort all the time. I thought that is just how my body was. After the first visit, I feel like I am in a new body. I can actually move now!! I am excited about this new treatment; I am looking forward to being able to have a better quality of life on a daily basis and I am interested to see how this will help me in skiing, CrossFit and other hobbies of mine.
