Hey World!
Yesterday, I arrived safely in Santiago, Chile! My teammate Lauren Morgan picked me up from the airport and we headed straight to the site. The Miranda’s have a sweet set up here in San Bernardo (20 min south of Santiago). See pictures of the site below.
There weren’t a lot of people skiing yesterday so I was able to get a ride. The set went well and I was able to get a good feel of the lake and set up. Afterwords I did a workout with Lauren and then did some cardio on my own.
The weather is great here! It is in the 80’s with little or no wind and the water temp is in the high 70’s- low 80’s. It is a great feeling to ski with just a vest and board shorts. Last night I went out with Lauren, Carlo Allais from Italy, Alejandro Robledo and Santiago Correa from Columbia and Felipe Miranda and Tanguy from Chile. We went downtown Santiago to a mall that had this sweet movie theatre. They have assigned seats with huge recliners. If it wasn’t a good movie, I probably would have fallen asleep. We ordered dinner before we went in and they brought it to us as we watched the movie. Hands down, it was the best theatre I have ever been to. We need to get some theaters like this in the states. We saw Mission Impossible 4. It was a great movie, I would definitely recommend it.
Today was a relaxed day where I didn’t do much. Tomorrow will be a training day and its the 1st official day of practice for the tournament. More and more people will start to come in over the next 4-5 days.
Keep checking the site as I will continue to post updates and eventually tournament results. Enjoy the pictures of the site below.
