I just got back from a quick trip to West Palm Beach, Florida for the U.S. National Championships of 3-event water skiing. The Okeeheelee Water Ski Club always hosts a great event. It was a good tournament for me as I made my debut of the 2016 Syndicate V-TYPE R. My nationals ride was only my 4th set of the ski so I had a few nerves with only having a few sets under my belt but my nationals ride went well. I ran 1.5@41off to take the lead with 6 skiers left. I was still in first place when top seed Nate Smith took to the water. Nate was looking really good out there as he ran a smooth 39off, only the second person to run it in open men slalom. Nate didn’t get the best gate and one as he pulled all the way to two to get around it and back to the wake for the full two buoys and the win. So I finished in 2nd place at the 2015 U.S. National Championships. It is always a great feeling to stand on the podium especially when competing with the talent we have here in the U.S.
