On November 14, 2011 from 3:30pm to 6:30pm, JumpStart 21 will be holding its First Annual “Hoops and Alley Oops Regional Celebrity Basketball Tournament” at the Sacramento Asian Sports Foundation in Elk Grove. Proceeds will go to funding internship scholarships for program graduates.
I will be playing on Elk Grove’s team as we compete against 7 other cities throughout the Sacramento Region. I will be playing along side Alex Van Dyke (played in the NFL), Dan Elliot (News 10 broadcaster), Ruthie Bolton (played in the WNBA for the Monarchs), Keri Thomas (Sutter Health) and Dan Goldman (Pro Water Skier). My dad, Mayor Steve Detrick was scheduled to be our captain but he is leaving for El Savador to help Elk Grove’s sister city who was hit by some big storms and have a lot of flooding going on.
